Wow... The sun setting. The ocean. MUST be miracles of a giant spiritual body.
To answer your question, how can I look around and think there is no god? My common sense allows me to.

Quite easily in fact...I don't believe in God and I think the sun is great and gravity is cool, but it's all explained by science, and whatever cannot be explained now will be in the future.

It is becoming a trend. It says in the Bible that we as Christians will be ridiculed for our beliefs. I believe in God. I also believe Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins. People say they don't believe because they have never seen Him. I've never seen a million dollars but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I admit that I cannot explain all the things you mentioned, but I also cannot explain a belief in a fictional character. If you do believe in God how do you explain all the terrible things that happen? I know we have "free will" but I also know a lot of people die and suffer by no choice of their own. (people starve because there wasn't enough rain to grow food----isn't your God in charge of the rain??)

scientists never said there was a god either. so I guess the jury is still out on that one. so let me get this straight once and for all.
sun=god
stars=god
ocean=god
okay-
misery=no god
foreclosure=no god
sickness=no god
that is a senseless proposition you just proposed and that's why people still don't believe;

Because it is impossible to believe in something my mind naturally rejects as pure insanity. You are an atheist in regards to Zeus, Thor, and Allah, atheists just believe in one less god. Makes perfect sense to me.

How can you think that there is? Just seeing the sunset and what ever else, doesn't really prove there is a god.There is NO solid proof either way.

how can you look around at all the death and destruction done supposedly because God told someone to do it, and believe there IS a god.

I look around me, see the beauty of this world, and realize that evolution and nature did one hell of a job.
