I don't know your race, but I am as white as whipped cream and I went to Wal-Mart and looked for hair straightening at home treatments, that specialized in African hair textures, and it worked great. My husband thought I was nuts, that it wouldn't work on my hair, but it was great and it lasted about 6 months. Good luck.

I use the herbal essence straightening supplies. I straighten it and put the straightening hairspray on it and brush it down every day. You still have to straighten it, but only about once a week.
