The saying means, I think, that we live in a male dominated environment/place/world. If you think about it most jobs are populated by men with the exception of nurses etc.
As far as splitting from partners is concerned it all depends on the circumstances, the law tends to favour the mother as they're usually the one the child/children rely on & the most responsible. I use the word "usually" loosely as I know quite a few friends that were brought up by their fathers/dads & wouldn't have it any other way.
An awful lot of men have shunned their responsibilities where their children are concerned, which I think has led to societys laws ruling the way they are today. It's a shame but the best you can do is make sure you're doing everything in your power legally & morally to see/support your children & prove the system wrong.

This question is a leading premise for an issue that has been in debate in all modern societies and cultures. The very issue has also been addressed by various religious thought as to way a man should conduct himself in the affairs of women. Even in the western world that advocates right of women, women have been allowed register their vote into political process only recently. Do women have absolute parity with men? Should they be treated somewhat distinctly, if not exactly equally? These and many issues are still hot in the forums of human rights and wrong. And while all this is going on, the civilised world does not cease to utilize women as sex icons. This is predominantly man’s world where women are still considered frail and incompetent. They are very vulnerable in many societies of the world, where abuse of their rights and position is still rife. In my personal opinion, women are not same as men, and therefore they should not be treated just like men, but with different regards and guidelines in view.

As a child of the sixties (flower power and all that nonsense) I can say that things were getting better for women until someone let that Thatcher woman into number 10... Men (who were starting to see us as equals) realised then how a person with raging hormones could ruin life for a whole country, so they took back any power we had gained. So I think you are wrong and it is a mans world.....
