It seems like when I started taking medications, my weight just skyrocketed. Has anyone else had similar problems? And if you have, what have you done to correct it? Going off the medicine won't work in my case. Already tried that.......

Thank everyone for their input. I've been on zoloft on and off for 5 years, but all types of medications for almost 10. My weight gain has been about 40 pounds since starting the meds., and now I have diabetes. If I could just lose the weight, I might not be diabetic anymore. I've drastically changed my eating habits and exercise regularly, but nothing seems to help. I can't really choose a best answer because they are all good to me. So thanks again.....

I have been on Zoloft six years now. I have gained forty pounds slowly but surely. I always thought it was Zoloft but the doctors think it is because I am just older and my metabolism is slow now. I don't buy it. So I just started exercising ...I hope it works. I'll let you know.

Usually Paxel is the one that causes weight gain. I am surprised that you mention it in regard to Zoloft. Don't know much about Klonopin other than it works better than xanax, I understand that it's very habit forming. Good luck on finding an answer to your weight gain problem. Could it be that because the medication is helping you, you are eating better. You do not mention your weight so maybe it's really not an issue.

No problems with Zoloft, in fact my doc put me on it after I had severe problems on Prozac. Still, only been on it 9 months.

I found Klonopin to be too sedating, and had to stop it. I could have slept 24/7 and had no energy to do anything except lie around.
