Depends on where you take them, but 24 pictures on color film for about $5.00 sounds right for a discount store.
Black and white - figure around 2.5 times that (there's not much demand for it). Oh, and it'll take a week to get them back.
Unless you use a special film that can be developed and printed like standard color film at the usual places - except it only does Black & White. Then that's still $5.00 (lab doesn't care).
In any case, the Black and White film costs more (about 2-3 times more) than color.

A 20 roll exposure roll of color print film may cost in the vicinity of $7-$8. Black and white went out in the late 1970's, and is done only by professionals who has a need for B&W.

If you are using C-41 process, the normal color processing and they make C-41 for black and white also, you can get it developed and prints also for about $7.50 a roll at Target or Walmart.

I think I paid $5.00 or so for 27 exposure of colour 35mm.

$0.16 for prints from digital source
walmart is the cheapest & fastest.
walgreens, target are good, too
