My best friend is addicted to a online game called "Runescape".
He stays on Runescape all day and doesn't get off.
Do you have any suggestions on how to break his addiction? It is not healthy to stay on a game this long. He barely sleeps, or eats. And, all he can talk about is that game. How can I break his addiction?

The only way to break this kind of addiction is to end the playing. Once he's not involved in his Runescape game, obsessed with earning more and doing more, he won't care much about it. Try talking to him about it.
If he's really addicted, he should start by limiting his time and cutting down on it until he's not on very much. I would say that this may be difficult though, because even playing these games a little will make the addiction stronger. It might be easier for him if he quits cold turkey. Over time he'll stop caring.
Another good way for you to help him break the addiction is to try and get him interested in something else. Sports, hobbies, any pastime that will distract him will help immensely. Good luck!

Never come between a guy and his computer, for the computer will always win.
No, seriously. Maybe this is just a phase he's going through. I was incredibly addicted to Runescape for six months plus before I realized I was wasting my time. I've been addicted to Neopets for six years or more {but now only go on about once a week.} Leave him alone for a while, and if he doesn't snap out, sit him down and give him a good, friendly talk. Try to get him interested in sports or other social activities.
Addiction to an online game is exactly like addiction to a drug, except for going "cold turkey" on an online game doesn't work.

Well if your friend is addicted is Runescape, you can't do much but tell him to stop and take a break, it's unhealthy to do that. But however, he is your friend, and you really can't do much but try to persuade him.

Oh God not Runescape, I wasted so much time on that, although I was never as addicted as "your friend". I don't know what you could do, I just eventually got bored of it. How about you show him World of Warcraft? Then he can play that all day instead!

purely provide up enjoying, your purely addicted on the grounds which you think of your addicted. pastime habit is all psychological, there is not any actual habit. purely discover some thing else you like doing.

Change the game settings to very easy so he beats the game and wants to do something else with his time. One day he will treat his career the same as he treats this video game.
