Undoubtedly the Holocaust. Never before have atrocities been committed by assembly line. Railroad tracks were laid directly to the doors of mechanized torture and murder. How can mankind sink any lower. We are appalled by Muslims teaching their children in school to become suicide bombers, but the same thing was done to two million Jewish children in the Nazi death camps.

There are people who will say that it wasn't "real" Christians who committed these atrocities, but it was the "real" Christian doctrine that created this culture of hate for others. Study the history of the Roman Catholic Church if you want a lesson in hatred for others.

I would have to consider the Holocaust to be the most shameful episode in all of MANKIND'S history, followed closely by every other episode of genocide. There have been many.

Again...that's a tough one. The Crusades, the Dark Ages, the Witch Trials, the Inquisition, the Holocaust would be tied in my opinion. However, dismantling the constitution as they are working on right now may trump all of those together as the worst of the worst. Time will tell.

There has been many shameful incidents over the years, it would be hard to pick just one, and not all of these incidents were caused by Christians either.
