I say to each his own.
I myself am getting my first tattoo next week. The scarification thing is too much for me to try. I would think it would hurt more than a tattoo. I'll see how the tattoo goes.
Aboriginal cultures have been doing this kind of thing for years. It's a very personal and symbolic thing for them. Western civilization just isn't as open to these ideas. I figure if it's done to both men and women, without one or the other being subjugated by it, and it means something to the person getting it done, more power to them!

Being a body piercer myself I find that scarification whether done professionally or not can be a beautiful thing. I just do not agree with doing any of it to be cool or just for a reaction. I do not believe in doing any of it unless you have a meaning behind it.

personally, i am curious to try it. everyone has tattoos, not very many people get scarification, which i guess is the appeal for a lot of people. some designs are really nice, but i imagine that it hurts like hell!
my ultimate body mod would be to get the pierced corsetry, because that is just BEAUTIFUL!!!

If that's your cup of tea, then go for it.It's your body, not mine. And who am i to judge.
Scarification has been around thousands of years. And will be around thousands more.Just like piercings and tattoos.

Nothing wrong with it. I think it should to everyone's own liking. It's your body, do what you want with it. No one should judge.
