I've seen several answers lately where it's stated that "Christians don't believe in having fun", where do you get this? We drink, you can as long as you do in moderation and don't get drunk, we dance, we do all sorts of things that non-Christians do.

to journey : You know you can be a Christian and have fun, you don't necessarily have to go out hell raising to have fun, and it never has to hurt any one or be at anyones expense, maybe you are to young to know how to have fun and still be a Christian.

For all the ignorant attacks on non-believers and on non-believers' arguments against religious faith, I'm amazed that it took this long for a Christian to point this out.
You're dead right: many people who don't like Christians imagine that Christians in general lead dreary, gray lives as devoid of fun as possible. Many people use that false belief as an argument against religious belief, illustrated in the line "I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints" in Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young". This is a bad argument, and in fact it's an only moderately less ridiculous parallel to the believers' notion that atheists are just people trying to avoid having to be moral.
Nice job pointing this out. You have done more for your faith than all the creationists and Bible-thumpers and the like put together.

it's just a different kind of fun.
Like when old bitties get together and play bridge, it's fun for them, but to others it's a bore-fest.
It's the people that make something fun. Most people view christians as extremely lacking in entertaining qualities and some people just don't want to be around them because of the whole judgemental aspect of hanging out with christians.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but I will say that more people should hang out with christians, because those folks talk the most s.hit on people and it's hilarious!!!!!

I think some of those answers may have been directed at a sour few who responded to questions about Halloween with 2-page sermons admonishing people to adhere to certain taken-out-of-context scriptures they so graciously pointed out to us all!
Why does everyone believe non-christians don't believe in the Golden Rule?

Everyone doesn't believe that. I think many christians have and do plenty of hell raising. The difference is that they don't take responsibility for it (the devil made them do it....or well we all sin it's human nature) then they ask forgivness and forget about it. Christians have lots of fun. Too bad it is at other people's expense alot of the time.

Personally, I don't need or want to drink to have fun. ((But that's me.))
I have more fun now as a Christian than I thought I was having living the secular life ((...AND it's without sinning...))

nothing is all or nothing - maybe a few people think this, but not everybody. people twist our words and make others believe crazy stuff. It's bad enough that there's people who believe crazy stuff too - like it isn't ok to dance or whatever.
