Is it one elbow? both? How large of an area is affected? Is there swelling? Blisters? How quickly did it start? Were you outside? Did you feel a sting?
Well, likely we'll never know. Put some cortisone on it, if it doesn't go away after a couple days, call your dermatologist.

Sounds like either eczema or scabies, ya might wanna go to the doc about it. I have eczema and the doctor I had confused it with scabies. Eczema tends to rash after you scratch your skin and has a patch of dry skin in the itchy area. Usually worse behind the knees on your legs, arms and hands. Allergy medicine won't help either condition. Do your best not to scratch it because once you do it won't stop itching. If you happen to have eczema I recommend you use oatmeal body wash, aveeno oatmeal lotion, and aveeno shaving cream. Those products are more effective then the elidel i was prescribed. And with scabies.. Take a permanent marker and draw a line through a rash area. Take a cotton ball with alcohol on it and rub over it once. If you see tiny track marks where they borrow under skin that could be the problem. I hope I helped.

It could be a number of things from a bug bite to a rash from some type of ivy or an alergic reaction. Try hydrocortizone cream. You can find it in the first aid aisle near the neosporin.

you may have a skin condition and/or allergic reaction to something your elbow came into contact with like a dirty surface, or even an insect bite. calamine lotion or hydrocortizone cream should stop the itch and anything for inflamation such as benadryl and/or asprin should stop the irritation. wash with mild soap and water first. if it continues see a doctor or dermatologist immediately.

It could be a fungal infection. I'd see a doctor, especially if there is swelling, heat, redness, and pain/itching.
