What Adrienne B says is good. Whip the butter fist, though, and add about a third of the sugar at a time, blending it in as you go (not whipping). Once the sugar and butter are blended you can whip up the mixture a little if you like. If you are using liquid flavouring, then add it to the butter when you whip it. If powdered, then mix it into the sugar before blending it into the butter.
Add the milk to the butter when whipping it.

Sorry but you can't use plain flour to make a cake! it won't rise, i made Yellow Butter Cake with Chocolate Frosting Recipe, believe me, to die for. i made my son the xbox controllers, i went onto google images, found the right size and shape, stuck a piece of greaseproof (didn't have tracing) paper on the surround (not the screen) and very gently traced the shape than laid it on the sponge, i always use victoria sponge, and cut it out, i bought the icing and coloured by kneaded the colours into it, it takes a while, use icing sugar to cornflour to knead onto and to roll the icing on lift using the rolling pin, cover the cake with butter icing then roll the icing and smoothe into place, or just do a chocolate frosting, much easier. good luck x

I love the Pillsbury French Vanilla. I could almost just eat it from the can. Yummm
If you want it colored, Just add a few drops of food coloring , and stir well.
