You should start eating right. Do not take risks.
You can diet after the baby but not now...
Good luck!

Yes, a poor diet can affect your baby. You are responsible for eating healthy and it isn't fair to neglect. Poor quality foods affect proper brain and organ growth. Avoid smoke, alcohol, drugs, processed foods like refined sugars, artificial sweeteners, junk food and raw fish. You can run the risk of getting diabetes and it increases the chances that your child will get it too. Take prenatal vitamins every day, eat whole grains, green leafy veggies, fruits and dairy. Your baby takes everything you put in. Be smart. Check below.

I ate healthy food for my first pregnancy and the baby for VERY Strong and healthy. For the second pregnancy, I was lazy, heavier and ate junk foods. The baby was still healthy, but was fatter.
These days, foods are enriched with vitamins so much if you eat junk food, you are still getting nutrition. It's not like we are eating rice and water in a Third World country where you don't get the variety of foods we do.
Start eating right and take your prenatal vitamins and everything should be ok.
Some women are so sick during their pregnancy in the 1st trimester that they actually lose weight. Don't worry. The baby will just take what it needs from you. If you don't want to be depleted of calcium and iron, you better start taking care of you.

Assuming your baby is still breastfeeding...yes this can affect the childs nutrition..you see anything you eat, drink, smoke,or that you skin may absorb will be present in the breast milk the same is true if you are lacking in nutrition..you should speak with either your physician or a dietician to work out a sensible nutrient packed diet as well as discuss your fluctuating appetite..this will increase the odds for both your and your baby's health and immune system.

I'm not sure how far along you are. Are you taking your pre-natal vitamins? They will help, although it's still best to try to eat as healthy as possible. I've known people who ate junk food the whole time they were pregnant and had healthy babies, but to me it's not worth the risk. Try eating one healthy meal a day, and one healthy snack. I loved peaches and nectarines while I was pregnant, try those for your snacks. Get a book on nutrition while pregnant, like What to Eat When You are Expecting. Good Luck.

You're pregnant, honey. That's the 'problem'.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm just saying that being pregnant can suppress the appetite, and it may not even be connected to morning sickness.
Just make sure that you are taking pre-natal vitamins. Your baby will take all of the nutrition that it needs from you, so you will suffer from deficiencies before your baby will.

a weel balanced diet is important for the development of your baby.if your not eating well and your in the early stages, maybe due to morning sickness, then watch you dont get dehydrated, youll end up being hospitalized and possibly put yourself and the baby at risk. in the later stages you may not feel like eating due to there not being much room in there! eat small meals but more often if you can.
my advice would be to speak to your doctor or midwife who will tell you if your eating enough.
do look after yourself though!! :-)

Please take your pregnancy seriously. Your question tells me you don't. What you eat absolutely affects the health of the baby, and you. So does smoking and drinking. If you did either before getting pregnant, you need to stop, if you can. Eat healthy foods, no junk food. Lots of freshly cooked vegetables. Your OB/Gyn can give you a diet to follow.
