I can't believe in this day and age someone can still be so narrow minded as your sister in law. She's not a Christian, she's a hypocrite. Why would God create us with the ability to climax if it was a sin?
I suggest your brother in law files for a divorce and finds himself somebody that wouldn't hide behind her christianity when in fact she just doesn't want sex.

The bible says in 1 Corinthians 7: 3-5 that a husband and wife should render each other their marital "dues" and not be depriving each other of it except by mutual consent. If she doesn't want to have sex with her husband it is more likely caused by another issue between them. Women usually don't want to have sex with husbands that they feel emotionally distant from, perhaps she feels that he's not putting in enough time with the family or paying attention to her needs. I am a Christian (not Born Again, although that term is rather derogatory) and know sex was meant to be gift from God to a married couple, she knows this I'm sure it is something else.

God gave the man a wife to enjoy and so that they could show their love to one another in a unique way. So, no, its not just for baby making. I am a Christian, when did she become a Christian?
Tell her this, this is what God says about it........
1 Corinthians chapter 7 (NLT)
1 Now about the questions you asked in your letter.
Yes, it is good to live a celibate life. 2 But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband. 3 The husband should not deprive his wife of sexual intimacy, which is her right as a married woman, nor should the wife deprive her husband. 4 The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband also gives authority over his body to his wife. 5 So do not deprive each other of sexual relations.

God did give us this gift of sex and no it is not just for procreation-if that were the case, a lot of the population would be in mental institutions out of anger and frustration,i.e. your brother! Could it be his wife is using this as an excuse as well because she is not as interested? Can she find,in the bible, where it is only to have chgildren? I doubt it, I know my bible fairly well and do not recall that restriction at all-A gift is for pleasure too, not just for practical purposes-and God well knew that when He gave us the gift of love that shows itself in pleasure with our spouses.
Hope this guy gets a break and someone educates his wife and finds out if she is being honest in why she wants to abstain so much!

The following scripture is speaking about having sex and it is clear that the only time it is ok to stop is when the couple are fasting but it says to come together again so Satan can not tempt you while you are not having sex. If his wife believes the bible she should accept this truth.
1Cr 7:4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
1Cr 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except [it be] with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

It is okay for Christians to have fun sex with their spouses. Even the New Testament says somewhere that you will have to find that the husbands body is not his nor the wife's body hers and that you are not to deny each other. That is talking about sex without trying to reproduce.

See 1 Corinthians 7:3-5
"Let the husband fufill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband.
The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
Stop depriving one another, except by the agreement for a time that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again lest Satan tempt you because of your lack of self control."

There is, in one of Paul's letters, a passage--and hopefully someone who remembers more than I do can find it--that specifically prohibits this. It says it's OK if you both agree on it for a short time, but it's a very bad thing to deny your spouse sex.

Not even the Puritans believed that. They were quite naughty compared to Victorian prudish standards.
And isn't your brother inlaw's wife your sister?
