Yes, and they misuse their faith for underlying compulsions. Someone once said that some Christians don't know the difference between lecturing and testifying for their faith. I think that explains some of the behavior. The other reason, I believe, is that some people have a need to control others and have found the Bible an excuse to do so. Therefore, they see the Bible as a way to use their obsessive compulsive behavior to control others. Their persepective of the Bible is based on their disease to control others and their need to be 'right' about everything. These people are, unfortunately, not true Christians, but control freaks who have found faith and the Bible an excuse for their underlying mental health issues.

theres a verse in the bible that i dont think any of them have ever read.... its something like.... dont pick at sliver in someone elses eye when there is a log in your own...
they want to go around telling people how to live and what they need in their life, when they themselves need it just as bad if not worse. (think the bible means, being a hypocrite only makes their belief look stupid)

It depends, if you believe abortion is okay, and I dont, we are at odds with one another. The same with same sex marriages. The Lord has forbidden this kind of union, we are not greater in wisdom than the Lord.
