Why should I miss out on a seat on the plane because a fatty needs two of them?! Why should I move aside for them on the pavement?! Rubbish.

If you read the above question, I specified that I'm talking about fat people who are that way because they are living unhealthily, and not the fat people who have an unfortunate medical condition. I literally no know other way I could have made that clearer.

My, you have really upset a few people here. I"m with you to a certain extent. My Auntie, God rest her, had a severe Thyroid problem and weighed over 25 stone. She was on a diet and medication and was in and out of Hospital all her life. I should imagine treatment today is much better, but I"m going back to the early 60"s when she died. The people that really annoy me are the severely obese people that are capable of doing something about it but don"t. You usually find that obese parents have obese children, and this is what I find selfish and inconsiderate. I was flying away on holiday in June and had to pay for excess baggage, and just behind me was a "gentleman" who must have weighed at least 23 stone. He didn"t have to pay any extra for his "bodily excess" .This really annoyed me, but I couldn"t do anything about it. Anyway I"m sorry you had so much abuse but I can understand it from people with a medical condition.

I've seen people like you, who pick on fat people on the sidewalk, and put your shoulder into theirs, and try to knock them sideways. It is mean and rude and cruel. One of these days you are gonna choose wrong, and one of the healthy fat people is gonna put your butt in a sling, literally.
You are the one who is selfish and inconsiderate, fat people pay for two seats, no discounts. If they want to buy 1/2 the seats on the airplane, it is their right to do so. As is yours.
You didn't mention it, but I bet you've thought it. Sitting next to a fat person on the plane can be crowded. Well, get the credit card out, buy the seat next to you, and shut up! You won't have to worry about being crowded anymore.
Human rights activist here, and nobody in America has more, or less rights than another. There is is a word for this, it is called FREEDOM. If you want to live in a totalitarian state, there are plenty, go find one, or start your own. Ban everyone you have stereotyped.
Ah, fat people. The last group of people that biggots like you can pick on, and it is legal. Just remember, fat people are a majority in this nation.
Hope I run into you on the sidewalk someday. You'll be needing a good orthopedic surgeon, you will need your shoulder replaced.
And I am not a fat person, so don't even bother to slam me.

Very, very, and I mean VERY few people who are overweight have a genuine medical condition that makes them that way, other than the fact they're human. The human body is designed to utilise and store excess calories as fat (energy) for times when there is no food.

Unfortunately we live in a time when food is cheap and plentiful (at least in the West) and at a time when people are the least active they've ever been.

That's not necessarily an excuse, there's such a thing as willpower and self-discipline. On the other hand, if people are happy, it's none of my business (as long as they stay out of my plane seat).

How ignorant are you, a fat person who is fat because they are unhealthy and not a fat person who is fat because of an unfortunate medical condition, what do you do, ask them if their fat because there unhealthy or fat because their ill and then decide to move over in your plane seat to give them room, grow up and just hope fatness never mars your life and pray that if it does no one is as ignorant to you.

Some of them are sick -in fact I might hazzard a guess to say that MOST of them are sick and don't want to be that size (morbidly opbese) and you are showing ignorance by treating them as you say. Also some may have mental health problems (and yes those drugs mess up the metabolism). So treat them as sick people and try to help these people.
Just because you afre living a healthy lifestyle doesn't mean you have to be selfish inconsiderate and nasty.
(I am a slim person buit I can tell you that Fat people have feelings too (and Most of them Want to be slim too).

They are only damaging themselves so I wouldn't say they're either selfish or inconsiderate. It's up to them if they want to eat healthily or not. I'm not even getting into the argument whether the NHS should refuse to treat them, although it appears acceptable to bash the smokers on the same issue. On the subject of seating, it does annoy me when an overweight person sits next to me on a bus, and has no consideration for the fact that they're seriously invading my personal space. If I were overweight, I'd show some consideration in situations like these.

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/v3fh3
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.

Obese people have the same addiction as those who smoke, drink or do drugs. These groups would rather give in than to stand up and say NO! Personally, the only thing I'm addicted to is bottled water. I guess I'm just the type of person who does not become easily addicted to things.
Do your realize that Obisity is now a disability..............what a sham!

Some people have a problem like comfort eating. And I personally think that it's partly the government's fault for not educating the british public about health and nutrition properly.

They may be fat, but I bet most of them are far better human beings then someone who is selfish, spiteful and obviously has major personality problems. They can change, I wonder can you?
I suggest you go look at yourself in the mirror and see if you can see a nice human being there, then work on it. Then go get a life.
