What is better to get a dell or hp since I want to know which is better when you want to reinstall windows?

I bought a Compaq 64 bit machine because I heard Vista required it. Jokes on me. It won't be necessary. So my advice is to wait until the specs are out - positive, for sure.

I wouldn't buy either. Quality control at Dell has gone to heck. We're having multiple problems with new Dell workstations... all kinds of hardware failures.
I'd go with a white box (custom build). Buying off the shelf today is just too unreliable.

smart decision, both are good computers, just makesure that your new computer can run vista
