Most people are not aware that you can host a party at the Constitution Center. You can also have a party in the Wanamaker Building and at the Ballroom at the Ben. You can have a wedding at UPenn's Museum; this would be my first choice, it's so beautiful. The Franklin Institute does parties. 30th Street Stations does banquets and was recently remodeled. The Institute of Contemporary Art is available. Obviously all of the hotels have ballrooms, each more beautiful and expensive than the last. Hope this was helpful.

Reception location depends on how many people are on the guest list and what kind of reception you are having...but here are some suggestions.
30th street station, cairnwood, abington art center, american helicopter museum, atwater kent museum of philadelphia (especially if a lot of guests are from out of town), battleship new jersey (VERY unique), or moshulu (another ship)...good luck!!
