Yes. There is upgraded economy that is what first class use to be.
There is also first class that is really nice.
Go to the BA web site and look at the diffrences between world club..etc.
It is confusing to explain. They even have maps of the cabins and explain the seat pitch..etc..
If you want a cheaper upgraded ticket, check with a local travel agency to see if they have consolidator tickets. Tell them to call "Air Tickets". I got a good price from them a few years ago for a seat on BA. Rules and prices change however and I am not so sure the airlines are giving consolidators great contracts. Have them check regular and consolidator pricing.

For long haul flight, there are 4 classes: economy, enhance economy, business and first class.

depends how far you are going. some only have economy, some will have club, buisness, gold, super economy and others like that.
