hat lamp is the kind that need a person to touch it to turn on or off. The probelm is that now is very sensitive.. and it turns on or off when it wants. I f I aproach my finger without touching it also turns on. How to solve the problem?

should be insulated from ground ( check the surface it is on - try a different surface ) clean the plastic parts that adjoin the metal grounding area
the switch works by recognizing a short to ground ( your body is the ground and your touch is the short ) if nothing ( incl. dirt ) is grounding it then it may just be worn out ( but i would think it would default to off - so look inside also and make sure the metal components are isolated )
last you can consider that the switch is receiving more current than it should ( arcing to your finger or other nearby grounds ) this would imply imminent failure - but no danger this is a very low current device ( the switch not the lamp ! ) AND MOST ANSWERS DID NOT NOTE THAT THIS WAS A 'TOUCH LAMP' so you can ignore most of them !

To solve the problem.right away, replace your desk lamp. It doesn't have to be brand new if you really wanted to save big bucks. Visit some garage sales where you can find a lot of your choices. But if you are like someone who love to spend big bucks for a much better one, I guessed you knew already where to go.
