Yes, tubal ligation (I believe thats what it was called) after my 2nd son. They pulled a bit of my fallopian tube thru a little band to create a 'knot' (without tying). In both tubes....been over 15 years and never pregnant since (whew).

I know people who have had it done and none of them have ever gotten pregnant after. But I also know some that have regretted the decision and now want another child. My friend was just telling me yesterday that she's not sure she wants another child, but she kind of wishes she still had that option. She could go try for a reversal, but the reversal is not effective in everybody. And I'm not saying everyone I know has regretted the decision. I knew one lady who had her tubes tied at 19 after giving birth to only one child. She's never second-guessed her decision. Personally, I don't plan to ever get it done, I just want to keep my options open, and birth control isn't all that hard to practice until that point where I might decide that I do want another child.

I had the laproscopic{not too sure if I spelled that rite} procedure. My Dr placed a clamp at the top and bottom of each tube.through two small cuts one in my belly button and one just above my pubic bone.Full recovery was about 2 weeks. It has been over a year. The best decision I ever made.I know some people regret it after. All I have to say is If this is what you want be 100% sure be fore you you do this.

I know this is not the question you asked, but I looked into a lot of options during this, my third and likely last pregnancy. I really thought the tube tying was what I wanted, but have settled on an IUD instead. It is extremely reliable and can be removed anytime. They also last about 5 years (if not taken out and then can just replaced for another 5 years), which is nice too. Check out this website, it is always good to explore all options, which sounds like you are trying to do....good luck.

My childhood babysitter was a "mistake" baby. Her mom had her tubes tied and she became pregnant a few years after having it done.

Hi, I had mine cut, tied & burned. It was that way for 10 years....I had a reversal to have another baby. It worked first try!:)

Mine were cut and burned together. It was the best choice I've ever made. It was done vaginally and recovery time was about three weeks. I've never felt better.
