Most of my great-aunts/uncles were born at home in the 1910s & 1920s. There was no nurse or midwife present, so the parents could lie about the ages. and thus no birth certificate Other than the cencus records for the home they were placed in (which none of them can recall which one it was.) How do I find the birth records? The only one I've found has three names & dates crossed out on it.

United States Vital Records
In general, there are three types of birth certificates:
1.Original - the record filed at birth
2.Amended - a birth record which has been revised from the original to reflect corrections or new information
3.Delayed - a certificate issued years after the birth because an original birth certificate was not filed.

Old family Bible, church membership record, property deeds, clubs, hospital records, cemetery records and human services at place of employment.
