Because there are a lot of crooked politicians who are afraid to lose the Latino vote so they sell the rest of us down the river. The big problem is that the illegals aren't supposed to vote, but in some states they actually do because the politicians look the other way.

What I don't get is that if We want to go to Mexico and stay there illegally we would be arrested and thrown in jail unless we had money to bribe the local authorities. Why is it that these oh so smart politicians here don't care that when the illegals work here, they send nearly everything they make back to Mexico and do not spend their money here to boost our economy. I heard on the news today that more than 500Billion dollars gets sent to Mexico every year by illegal Mexicans working here. Most of them pay no taxes so when they horn into our social services and use our medical facilities it is costing money to the people who actually pay taxes. Some of those real tax paying citizens don't even get the same benefits. I do not hate anyone but I think what they are doing to us is grossly unfair and it is disgusting that our own politicians allow it.

I also read somewhere that the Mexican government has a plan to take back all of the territories they lost to the U.S. If we do not do something about it soon, seriously we will have worse problems than we do now.

Illegals are like the stray cat that 'Followed me home, Mom. Can I keep it' that the government wants to 'take care of'. They seem to forget about the loyal 'beagle' that romps with him at play, works hard with him hunting and has always depended on him for the yard to live in and protection from harm. Now the beagle is doing without some of the things he was promised and the 'stray pet', who never went hunting with him, hasn't worked for anything is reaping all the rewards. The beagle put all those rabbits and squirrels in the freezer. Now that stinkin' cat gets to have them for dinner~~just an anlogy

American citizens are being forgotten. Illegal immigrants are getting all the benefits without paying the dues. Plus, they are biting the hand that feeds them.

even though they are illegals they still can get their original birth certificate from their homeland i.e. russia, china, haiti, and yes..even mexico. and even though they are illegals they can get an identification card from the DMV. and yes, even though they may be illegals, with their I.D. they can apply for a social security number and they can still obtain a work permit or visa-that our government issues them. so if you want to be mad at anyone..be mad at the government. if the governing bodies of each state stopped issuing all the documents above-well then there wouldnt be a problem now would there? just because they may be illegal they can still obtain a work permit and once they obtain a work permit the social security administration automatically issues them a temporary social security number.

Why, years of careful planning and effort, that's how. While you were busy holding down a job, they've been busy working the system to cut off a HUGE slab of cheese for their people.

But, the tide is turning on a lot of that...people are starting to realize the scale and scope of the whole business, and deciding that maybe illegal immigration AKA 'bums rush' immigration really isn't such a hot concept...

That Streak is only too significant to end. factor and the Undertaker had a great tournament, the terrific between the night, after aptitude and Michaels. And if this is any convenience, factor lost to the UNDERTAKER, no longer some mid-card jobber.

Evidently you didnt need the ID before but you will now.

WASHINGTON, April 15 — More than 50 million Medicaid recipients will soon have to produce birth certificates, passports or other documents to prove that they are United States citizens, and everyone who applies for coverage after June 30 will have to show similar documents under a new federal law.

The requirement is meant to stop the "theft of Medicaid benefits by illegal aliens," in the words of Representative Charlie Norwood, Republican of Georgia, a principal author of the provision, which was signed into law by President Bush on Feb. 8.

In enforcing the new requirement, federal and state officials must take account of passions stirred by weeks of national debate over immigration policy. State officials worry that many blacks, American Indians and other poor people will be unable to come up with the documents needed to prove citizenship. In addition, hospital executives said they were concerned that the law could increase their costs, by reducing the number of patients with insurance.

The new requirement takes effect on July 1. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that it will save the federal government $220 million over five years and $735 million over 10 years.

Estimates of the number of people who will be affected vary widely. The budget office expects that 35,000 people will lose coverage by 2015. Most of them will be illegal immigrants, it said, but some will be citizens unable to produce the necessary documents. Some Medicaid experts put the numbers much higher, saying that millions of citizens could find their health benefits in jeopardy.

State officials are trying to figure out how to comply. Many said the requirement would result in denying benefits to some poor people who were entitled to Medicaid but could not find the necessary documents.

"This provision is misguided and will serve as a barrier to health care for otherwise eligible United States citizens," said Gov. Chris Gregoire of Washington, a Democrat.

Ms. Gregoire said the provision would cause hardship for many older African-Americans who never received birth certificates and for homeless people who did not have ready access to family records.

Hospitals and nursing homes are expressing concern. "The new requirement will result in fewer people being eligible for Medicaid or enrolling in the program, and that means more uninsured people," said Lynne P. Fagnani, senior vice president of the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems. "They still need care, but are more likely to wait until their condition becomes more severe and more costly to treat."

The new requirement will come as a surprise to most Medicaid recipients. The law said federal officials should inform them "as soon as practicable" after Feb. 8. But the education campaign, to be conducted in concert with states, has yet to begin.

Under the law, the Deficit Reduction Act, states cannot receive federal Medicaid money unless they verify citizenship by checking documents like passports and birth certificates for people who receive or apply for Medicaid.

In a draft letter providing guidance to state officials, the Bush administration says, "An applicant or recipient who does not cooperate with the requirement to present documentary evidence of citizenship may be denied eligibility or terminated" from Medicaid.

It took effect on July1 so it does look like they were getting it doesnt it ?
