I've been single since Jan. Have met someone on dating site, we been chatting for months, have spoke on phone and plan to meet up.I've not been out for months, looking forward to getting out and nice glass or 2 of wine. don't wanna drink alone but he lives 50 miles away. Do i let him stay over or suggest B&b/ hotel? obviously can't say how evening will progress, but prior to him visiting. what should i say/suggest. don't want to give him wrong idea either. what do you think?

well dont make any plans for him to stay over before meeting. he could end upbeing someone who you dont want to spend a night with and have no way out (by spend a nite i dont mean sex)
make the suggestionsonce you meetup. have a girlfriend call you after 2 hrs to see if all is ok, then if youre not having a good time thats your out.

I think you should just be thinking of going out for a few drinks at first and if you like each other then it will move on by itself, do not rush into anything but especially as you have never met him before, you really do not know anything about him, please tell someone where you are going and that you have arrived there and back. Remember all the stories you have heard about just this. Have a good time but be careful and do not leave your drink unattended. Make sure you have arranged your journey home too.

Personally i would not let him stop over.
What you could do is, prebook a hotel/BB room twin beds of course, and then take it from there.Alternatively if that is to close for comfort, then book 2 single rooms, and if the evening go's better than expected then you could always change the arrangements.
If this man is a gentleman, then he won't mind you suggesting staying @ a hotel
His body language and persona will change if he had something else on his mind.

don't suggest anything he is a man after all and will get the wrong idea, if he wants a drink then hopefully he will book a hotel for himself if your evening goes well you can then stay ay the hotel with him but always have the ability to leave when you want...there is nothing worse that trying to get rid of a man from your house the morning after. enjoy your date

Hi, Just Take Great Care. A B&B sounds the best thing untill you get to know him some more. Its like a Good Book when you see the film that they have made of the book its not what you expect.
ps. if someone were to invite me to stay the night, I would think that the Good Luck Fairy must like me a lot as I would read between the lines.JUST TAKE GREAT CARE.

This is someone you've never met and you barely even know. It would be in your best interest to suggest a hotel for him to stay in besides you don't want to give him the wrong idea.

No, not a good idea. If you met him online, you don't want him to know where you live. You should meet up and plan on going home alone. 50 miles is not that far.

My personal opinion is to a hotel or something of that nature. For some reason, I tend to err on the side of caution when hearing of situations like meeting people online for the first time. I think its better to not invite someone to your home in case it turns out that you would not want them there afterwards for some reason.

You don't really know him and to be on the safe side have him stay in a hotel or b&b if you like him and feel comfortable with him after you have met then you can take it from there.

You can just say that you have an extra room or bed if he's like to stay over. If the night progresses nicely, you can always change the sleeping arrangements. That way, if it isn't what one of you wants to do, at least he will have a clean, safe place to sleep with no obligations that you expect him to sleep with you or that you want him to.
