I know its a dumb question, but I'm a black female who straightens her hair...my hair has became thinner from straightening it over time....if I shave my head..I won't have to straighten it...will that make it come back healthy and somewhat thicker?

My mother shaved me 3 times when baby to get more hair and it worked great! unless you are definitelly loosing your hair for other reasons besides chemicalls. When you get it back try Nioxin line of products it had helped 90% of my clients that suffer from thinning and hair lost. Good luck

No. Shaving your head does no longer boost the form of follicles that are on your head. in case you have skinny hair and want thicker hair you will could desire to discover a volumising product

No. People believe it grows back thicker, but that is just a myth. You have so many hair follicles and only one hair per follicle, so it will not grow back thicker. It may appear thicker because the end is blunt and not tapered as a waxed hair would be.

No your hair will not come back thicker but it will grow back healthier! there are hair products out there that you can use to make your hair healthy again. try a deep conditioning a few times...and try to stay away from that straighter for a while

No that is not a stupid question....Actually my chinese friend did that to her daughter and her hair grew back thicker...and i have another friend(black) that did that to her hair and it came back thicker and healthier...so actually that is a good idea, but hopefully it will look nice on you...sometimes if you have a big head it tends too look a little strange, or if you have manly features(lol) but that is not a bad idea.and it actually helps the hair strengthen(smile)

Yes it will come back heathlier. I am not sure about the thicker part. I have heard that that is true. It is true for the hair on your legs! Good luck with your hair!

It will.....
I did it, not for that reason, but when I cut my hair off it grew back in perfectly healthy...
If you decide to do that a good thing to think about is taking hair nutrients also..... that will really thicken it for you.
I use: Shen Mehn (women's formula). I get it from the Vitamin Shoppe, works absolutely fabulous.

the straightness or curly of your hair comes from your genes. Shaving it won't work. it will grow back as curly.
