I had asked a question about after being divorced, was it shallow to not want to settle down, but to date. I got an answer from a lady that I just don't get. Here is the answer:

you are married to someone, papers might say you are divorced, but in Gods eyes, you made a promise, and you can't go back on it... so if you mess around with any other women, its adultery.... and yes, its pathetic to just want to date around... its also called being a player, its selfish, and sick... you shouldn't use women

Since when is honesty and dating using woman? Or sick for that matter? And what is she trying to say? That divorced people should never date anyone, ever? This kind of thinking has just got my head SPINNING! Who's right? And can I hear from the Divorced out there?

And if you can't date, how would you ever find somebody? A player? I think not!

And as far as I'm concerned, that's pushing a Christian view on me, and I didn't ask anything about religion. I AM christian, but I'm not in a christian sect that believes divorce is wrong.

If your divorced by law you can date how ever you want. this women was saying your always married in God's eyes. Yes it's a sin to divorce but here on earth it's easier said than done. If your a single man there's nothing wrong with dating and if you don't want to settle down again it's probably for the better anyways you have been through it and it didn't work out so why make the same mistake twice?! If your dating one women at a time your not using them. A player is someone who dates multiple women at a time. Hopefully that's not what you meant.

She's nuts.

No one should judge another. No one. Besides, in the eyes of god, you could get an annulment and "never have been married."

I am divorced too, and in my opinion...if God exists...and if he loves us so much and is all forgiving if we ask for penance...then I can be forgiven for marrying the wrong man and getting divorced.

Further, no...it is not wrong for you to want to date and mess around a little. We all need to get out there and explore the possiblities of our new life after a divorce. It's not healthy to become a hermit. Date! Have fun! You probably haven't had fun in a long time now. Go for it. Life is too short to worry about stupid things and opinions of others.

Well it's pretty plan to see that this lady gotr burned real bad!!

NO, your NOT a player if you decide to only date!! Your right! Your being honest about all your intentions.

Yes, we all getr married in the eyes of God, but we also get the divorce with him watching too.;

This lady has so much hatred for a guy out there, so she will bash the rest of you too.

Ok, not that I'm stalking you, but I answered the same question of yours that she did. I'm not divorced, either. But anyway, I wouldn't put too much stock in what she said. She seems to be slightly (maybe more than slightly, but I'll pretend to be nice) brainwashed and out of touch with reality. Try to stop your head from spinning, because the most you should do is roll your eyes.

Nobody is right or wrong, it's just an opinion. I think that woman has some issues that you just don't want to be a part of.

Don't worry about her, who cares what she thinks.

People should date and meet new people. It's the only way to figure out who we are and what we want and need from someone else. I'd call it experiencing life. I guess she would call it going to hell.

This woman sounds like an overly repressed cook. I dont think there is anything wrong with just wanting to date, if and when you find someone that interests you, then you may change your mind.

This woman does not sound like a woman who is at all interesting, and would probably cause you a great deal of stress and agitation in your life.

That my friend is a scorned woman! She probably dated a guy, and wanted to get married after the first week. He then dumped her because she is obviously crazy!

oh boy..........she sounds like she's in the dark ages. dont' listen to her. you are not married anymore. its not 1950. if there wasn't an acceptable way of ending a marriage as divorce then they would outlaw it. i dont think you need to hear from just divorced people.......only people who have their heads on straight.
