I know from personal friends that the path to legalization in this country is a terrible process. It is far too expensive for many who want to start a new life. Also, the United States is very rigid on rescheduling dates once they assign you one. My friend received her date for fingerprinting in the mail 2 days before she was to appear in Miami (600 miles away). They only allow one reschedule, and again will allow for very little notice. This is the kind of **** that happens all the time in our system. Is it any wonder why we have such a large number of illegal immigrants? The majority of LEGAL citizens in this country would have trouble getting in.

And by the way, I'm white, Republican, and was born in this country...This is ridiculous though. Let's spend billions on a damn wall instead of working out the REAL problems.

Legalization was made as an income generating procedure in the US. Exorbitant fees are being imposed which is more of discouraging applicants than accepting them as legal entrants. The US must reconsider the process for legalization and must be lenient.

Well my wife did it legally and I agree that it was hard, long and expensive because we chose a lawyer. I know some that did it on their own and it was still long and difficult but it was also cheap.

Regardless what the process is, it is the only one we have and it should be followed. Is the reward not worth it?

The process is definitely not justification for breaking the law and coming here illegally as some on this site state.

We can't afford to take all the poor who want to come. Poor people don't make enough money to pay to educate their families or for other services. We fund that. So we LIMIT how many can come, to keep our schools and other services from being over run. What limits we do allow, we PACE so they don't all come at once before infrastructure can catch up.

That means, sometimes it is not just 'difficult', it is impossible, because the answer means 'no'. With illegals, their better life is at our expense and is ruining our children's education in our border states and in areas where illegals concentrate.

I, too, am a Republican. The current NATURALIZATION process was established by a Demorat bureaucracy. I think it is too easy for some people to get citizenship. Just being born in this country shouldn't qualify you.

We might need to make some changes. I can almost understand someone trying to become legal and getting fed up with the process, but most of the illegals don't even try.
