I am a police officer and I will give you the answer bluntly to prove the point. You know they do it and I know they do it, but i takes an act of congress to get into a house to search it and to just up and arrest people. It is not fair, but eveyone has thier constintutioal rights regaurdless of who they are.
.
PROVE to me that you know for 100% that there are drugs in the house. PROVE means you have seen them. You have been there. You have possesed them. You have PERSONAL knowledge of the acts being committed.
Police just can't go and and find drug people and arrest them.
Police have to have probable cause to search ( personal knowledge from themselves ).
Police just can't go out and get a search warrant. You have someone with FRESH personal knowledge meaning: PROVE to me that you know for 100% that there are drugs in the house. PROVE means you have seen them. You have been there. You have possesed them. You have PERSONAL knowledge of the acts being committed. Plus this informant has to have enough information and be crediable enough to get teh warrant. It is not easy. Everyone has rights, even drug dealers.
As for the police going in there for other things.......they must of been doing other stuff and did not see any violations in progress.
You know and I know the drug people are doing it........but PROVE it.
anymore questions just email me.

This also applies to motorcar searches the position consent isn't required because it is somewhat likely you would possibly want to throw the drugs out the window or swallow them like the youngsters in "great squaddies". also, its no longer a Washington state element. Its a touch element called the 4th modification in the structure of u . s . a . of america(hint hint).

we live in a country where civil rights are protected, and everyone is entitled to due process. Part of that due process includes probable cause, appropriate use of force, collection of evidence, etc. Police need to make 100% sure when they take down a drug house or clean up a section with prostitution, that they have a case that will hold up in court and that no dumba$$ defense attorney can mess up by saying procedure and policy wasn't followed. Police have to make sure all their bases are covered. This takes time, and patience, that must be right the first time. Either that or the police don't know and it is your responsibility as a citizen to let them know. It could also be a sting and things will happen eventually.

They watch these places sometimes for years to build their case or get to the "bigger" dope dealer providing to them. They will go in and bust those users known to snitch and for information let them go only to follow and watch some more.
Busting the little guy doesn't do much in the war on drugs. The police want to get to the source.

Well, Step, maybe it's because you haven't let them know how things are to be done. I mean, it is you that totally understands what's going on in the drug house, right. You know every person and who that person is buying from and where they live, what they drive, who their girlfriend is, etc... Maybe the police just don't know where to find you so they'll know what to do. Of course, when they do, they're going to want you to go in first in case there are guns, etc... But you are prepared for that since you have researched the house completely. So, give the police a call and let them know how to do their job since you know so well. Or, at least call them to tell them what you have seen.

Sometimes they have undercover agents and snitches working there?
Sometimes they themselves are getting their cut from the dealers, money and drugs to either smoke it
or shoot it, also sell it themselves.
or they threaten some of the dealers
to let their snitches work with them.
And then there are some who don't give a damn, especially in a black
community, they would like for them all to be dead! As long as its not in
the rich white neighborhoods. If
they only knew that these rich white men are giving the money to the blacks and columbians to fly planes
to bring it here. There are also crooks at the Ports. It's all over the
world!!

sting operation you are not informed about? sometimes law enforcement will allow a smaller crime to continue to allow a snitch to leak out where the bigger crime is taking place.

They'll tell you that they are looking for the "bigger" dealer, but the truth of the matter is that the police are making money off of the that house. Why would they close one of their businesses?

The policemen could have been bribed by the drug lords. Report them to their superiors so that appropriate action will be made.
