I find Airborne helpful, at the first sign of a cold. Some say it really doen't help, but I feel it does. Also, the zinc losenzes. Look for the ones with highest zinc content. It also helps to keep your body as healthy as possible to prevent the cold.( ya,know good diet and exercise, take supplements to boost the immune system general vitamins and minerals and Echinacia, taken the first couple days then back off for a day) Drink lots of fluids. I also found that I get less colds when I',m not around toddlers and children under 7. They tend to spread viruses. Wash your hands frequetly and avoid touching your nose or your eyes as this is the entry point for most viruses.
Hope this helps.

I'm not to sure about ridding yourself of a cold--I believe you just have to let it run its course. But I was told by my doctor that spraying saline into your nose daily is a great way to prevent colds. Many health care professionals do this because of the amount of infected people they come across every day. I plan on doing this myself this flu and cold season. Good luck to you!

Wash your hands with soap, and often!
Cold germs are usually passed on by touch (not airborn). Everyone is always touching each other (handshake) and things (doorknobs) then touching their own faces, which spreads the germs to yourself.
So, make sure you use warm water and SOAP!

Lots of fluids! Tea made out of fresh ginger, fresh lemon juice, and honey is great. Someone made me tea once out of lemon juice, cayenne pepper, honey, and garlic. It tasted terrible, but it worked. Also, eating lots of onions and garlic is good for a cold.
