i want to start a business that will fulfill the needs of people that are not currently being met. please tell me what these needs are!

Any "service" aimed at the work force. There is such a lack of time for people that work all day, that the simplest service rendered can become a profitable business.
Grocery shopping, dog walking/sitting, day-care, car washing, food preparing, organizing - anything that would help give extra time to an individual.

There are lots of needy out there. The poor, the homeless, etc. I know one minister who has a ministry that goes around at night in a truck with hot food for the homeless and presents the word of God to them while he feeds them.
You could also contact government agencies that have programs of helping the needy. They could probably give you some insight.

a bookstore that sells out of print and old manuscripts that don't cost an arm and a leg. I like reading books written prior to 13th century, hard to get from library if your not in a large city and the cost is out of reach.

People at nursing homes are very often neglected. A visit from a young person would brighten someones life.

More Funding for all Charities and Non-Profit groups.
Don't begin a new business there are more than enough.
Find one you like and invest your time and money to that cause.
