I have heard from countless numbers of Muslims they believe in Jesus Christ as a prophet (thus making them also his followers/disciples), but I find this very perplexing.

As a prophet, then therefore a spokesperson for God. His disciples must therefore believe in all His teachings. If Muslims hold Christ as a prophet, then are they not also His disciples, believing in His words? Do Muslims really accept Jesus Christ as the Savior of the World, the Resurrection, the Son of God, Alpha and Omega, even the God of this world, the Prince of Peace, even the Great I Am? Also, how can a Muslim accept Jesus Christ as a prophet and not heed His teachings to be baptized?

"And he hath said: Repent all ye ends of the earth, and come unto me, and be baptized in my name, and have faith in me, that ye may be saved." (Moro. 2:2)

"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matt. 28:19)

Someone please help me out here.

The following is given by request: Jesus is the only way to heaven: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

Jesus is the Son of God: "When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
...
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 16:13-17)

"Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, 'Truly you are the Son of God.' " (Matthew 14:33)
Jews recite His words: "He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, 'I am the Son of God.' " (Matthew 27:43) and a Roman soldier testified at His death: "Truly, this man was the Son of God" (Mark 15:39)

There is no bible conspiracy. These words have been verified by countless bibles in countless languages and societies throughout the world. Concerning the teachings of Christ as cited above, there exist no substantial discrepancies between the many, independently-protected ancient bibles on His teachings or those scriptures cited above.

Turmoyl, please cite your sources on those claims. If there is any truth to them, or if Muslims can respond to further evidences of Christ's claim to Godhood and the Atonement and Resurrection, please consider Paul's testimony:
"... that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God." (1 Cor 15:3-9)

An angels and Christ himself both testify of His Godhood in Matt 28:5-7, 16-20
"And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here: for he is arisen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you."
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some adoubted.
And aJesus came and spake unto them, saying, All bpower is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and ateach all bnations, cbaptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to bobserve all things whatsoever I have ccommanded you: and, lo, I am dwith you alway, even unto the eend of the world. Amen."

Please help me understand Muslims and Christ. Muslims say, yes Islam holds Christ as a prophet, but no it does accept Christ's words as recorded in the New Testament by Christ's closest disciples, even from the twelve apostles. This is illogical, because the acceptance of a prophet means that his teachings are God's word, even if the prophet himself proclaims Himself to be God, even the Son of God. Jesus was crucified for that very teaching alone, being deemed the ultimate blasphemy.

Will someone please help me by explaining how Muslims can really believe in Jesus Christ without accepting his most fundamental commandments and teachings as recorded in the New Testament? To me, it is like Christians telling me that they believe in Mohammed, but not in the Koran (the record of his teachings, as I understand it).

Do Muslims believe that they have some other record of Christ's teachings which do not include the call to baptism or His own proclaimation of His divinity? Go figure.

Dude, I hear ya. But there's more...Muslims say they believe that Jesus is a prophet. Their qualifications of a prophet is that they are sinless, for only that way can they stand in the presence of God.

But now, according to the Gospel, Jesus was arrested, tried, beaten, crucified, died, buried, and was risen 3 days later. He then showed Himself to over 500 people who were alive at the time of the writings of the Gospels and letters, meaning, they could vouch for the truth should there be any doubt. Then 40 days later, Jesus rose up into heaven, promising to return one day.
The Muslims believe that Jesus was not arrested, but instead, since the guards didn't know who he was (remember, Judas let them know by kissing Jesus on the cheek) Jesus appointed a buddy (whom the Muslims have even given a name) to take the fall for Him, while Jesus fled to Egypt until everything cooled down. Then, Jesus returned, telling everybody, "Look, I'm back, resurrected from the dead!"

Now, according to their story, Jesus' claim to have been resurrected from the dead would've made Jesus a liar. Their own interpretation of Christ's death and resurrection disqualifies Jesus from being considered a prophet in their religion. But now, if Jesus was a liar, and not a prophet afterall, then Islam is incomplete, and cannot exist, except only as a false religion, and Mohammad can only be seen as a false prophet for lying about Jesus.
But regardless of which one, since their stories don't match, ONE of them HAS to be a liar. And if one is a liar, then one is not a prophet. But in order for Islam to be considered true, BOTH (Jesus and Mohammad) must qualify as prophets of God.

Yes, Muslims do really believe in Jesus Christ as a prophet. You have ask so many questions at once, I don't know where to start. A lot of people who call themselves Christians don't follow the teachings of Christ. Muhammad, Islam's Prophet, believed Jesus was sent by Allah to be the Messiah, miraculously born of the Virgin Mary, who brought the Gospel, who died, was raised from the dead, then ascended into heaven to be with Allah. Jesus would become an everlasting blessing to all mankind! Hope this help.!

Yes Muslims believe in Jesus (pbuh) as a well respected Prophet of God!!! We do not follow the Bible because it has been changed numerous times!! We do not believe him to be God or the son of God or anything like that. He is a messenger from God just like Noah, Abraham, Joseph, David, Solomon etc. etc. Jesus never claimed to be the son of God!! He came teaching the same message that all the prophets taught: To worship ONE God alone!!!!!!

Your attitude toward Jesus Christ, whether you are Christian, Jewish or Muslim or another religion, is important since Jesus Christ the Lord is the God of heaven and there is no other.

Many people try to diminish the Lord, either as just a prophet or the son of a father like people in the natural world. The Lord has stated that He has all power in heaven and earth and He has the keys to hell and death.

Religions that diminish the Lord are therefore not Christian and cannot claim to be fully Christian. Neither can they claim to be somehow fully compliant with or the same as the Christian faith.

They don't believe in the same Jesus of the Bible. They think a person who looked like Jesus switched places and hung on the cross in his place. They don't believe he is the Son of God and hate people who do. They think he was a prophet. They claim to have both Old and New Testaments plus the Quran that they follow.
Yet they disregaurd what the scritures really say in the Old and New Testament. I'd like to know what Bible they read? Isalm is full of contridictions. They choose bits and pieces of the Bible they want to follow and disregaurd the rest.

So many long answers here. I will try to be short.

Muslims consider Jesus to be a Prophet. They accept the virgin birth, and that Jesus ascended into heaven to be with G-d, and will come back at the end of days.

They do not consider him the Messiah, G-d. Doesn't this make alot more sense that to say Jesus is G-d? G-d is One.

He is the prophet of God (fullstop). No son of God, not died for our sins, not died on the cross, nobody will be saved just by accepting him...etc

We would believe in his words but the current bible is corrupted, you can't differentiate whether it is Jesus (pbuh)'s words or St.Pauls. Therefore we do not take current bible as his words, and we do not follow any of the verses of bible. We have Quran and Quran has everything that anybody ever needs.

don't say things about Jesus except with the truth. christians have admired Jesus too much to the limit that they start worshiping him beside God. and the truth is Jesus has been sent from God, just like the other prophets of God Abraham, Moses, David, Isac, Muhammad and all the other prophets of God. their main goal is to guide people toward the true path and warn them from the Hell and punishment of God.
Jesus born as a miracle without father for a sign to the children of Israel who are too stubborn to believe in God evidences. God sent Jesus supported him with the holyspirit (Angel Gibriel) so the jewish will have no excues for why they don't believe.

Jesus isn't the son of God, and no one is children of God, but we all are God servents, if He wants he will punish us, and if He wants he will let us go. the word son in the Bible does not mean son as you understand today. the word son means an honor servent of God, those who believe in Him.

your only savior is your God who created you, Alpha and Omega is refer to God not to Jesus. please know the difference between Jesus and God. God is your creator, Jesus is the one who sent down to you.

No, they actually don't. They consider Christ as the 'original infidel'. And that comes directly from the mouth of Muhammad himself. Although they believe in the Virgin Mary and her virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, they don't believe in His Crucifixion and death, because they do not want to believe in His resurrection from the dead and Ascencion to heaven.
Have you ever wondered why Christians are endlessly persecuted in Islamic or Muslim countries?
Have you ever wondered why we "Christians" or followers of Christ are called 'infidels' by them?
