I just started working at a Dog boarding/kennel place, ( and supply store ) and I want advice from owners. Not websites. What are common behaviors of dogs, and dogs in kennels. For ex: There's the daycare dogs, that come in every day for 6 hours while their peoples work. They all know each other, and are all in a room together. The owner ( of the kennel ) said that I shouldn't go in there and try to make friends or whatever- because the dogs will get attached - and will cause them to start fighting/biing etc. Like thats the kinda stuff I want to know. Also i'm a cat owner and person so I'm trying to do my research and learn more about dogs and dog behaviors etc. Any help is appriciated, experiences, what to do not to do etc. I'm not dog dumb, i do know quite a bit, but i know as a cat owner- theres more i need to learn about dogs! Thanks y'all!

There is so much to reading dogs and understanding their behavior. It takes years of handling multiple dogs to get good at it.

I hope SOMEBODY is in supervising those dogs, to leave them unsupervised and all together is asking for trouble. That is one of the problems with many daycares, the people in charge don't even know what they are doing. That is no reflection on you, and I don't know the owner, but if the dogs are left alone together, I would be skeptical of what you learn from them.

ive worked with dogs both boarding and rescue fo the last 9 years. i started out not knowing much at all but have learnt lots over the years. every day is different just like every dogs personality. the best way is to take each day as it comes and youll gradually learn more and more. its would be wrong of me to give you tips on their behaviour as theres no right answers as they are all so different. what will help you is doing a small animal care course on a night theyll give you the basics you need.
gud luck.
