My hair has been falling out a lot lately. I know this is because of malnutrition, so I was wondering which vitamins are essential for healthy hair. Are there any vitamins I could take to make my hair stronger and stop it from falling out so much? I am 15 years old.

Pantothenic acid, which is mostly Vitamin B. You also need more protein. I would recommend a protein shake every day. They also make hair and nail vitamins that help with growth and prevent it from falling out.

You mentioned that it is because of malnutrition. Do you have an eating disorder? You should be careful about taking vitamins if you are not eating because they can be really hard on your stomach and have toxic results. Eat more lean protein such as chicken if you are concerned about weight gain and it will help you have something in your stomach that will assist in breaking down other nutrients.

Protein plays a big part of it. If you don't get enough protein your hair will start to fall out. Other good things for your hair are Vitamin D, Calcium, and fatty acids.

vitamin b6
folic acid
vitamin E
omega-3 (found in fish among other things)

eat dark leafy greens, salmon, drink water.

also, try the line called Nioxin (sold in salons). Its for fine or thinning hair and really really really helps with re-growth and maintaining healthy hair and scalp. its recommended for pregnant women and cancer patients as well.
you have to use the whole line, they have vitamins, shampoo, conditioner, scalp treatments, etc..

but youre right, what you put in your body makes the difference. make sure you are eating regularly, and that they are healthy, well rounded meals. dont skimp on food, especially this young... you can really hurt yourself now, and when you are older. it REALLY makes the difference.

you are pretty young for this to happen, so go to your doctor and get tests done to check and make sure you dont have any thyroid issues or anything.
if there are any issues with eating disorders also, please ask your parents and doctor for help. it will kill you if you dont.

Honey, you need to see a doctor. At 15, your hair should not be falling out. If you are suffering from malnutrition, your doctor can refer you to a dietician that can help you learn to eat healthier. If you are suffering from Anorexia or Bullemia, you definately need to tell someone and get some help. Those are deadly diseases.

either take a women's multi-vitamin or prenatal vitamin. also, knox gelatin helps, since it is basically just protein. stress and hormones can cause your hair to fall out, as well as a nutritionally poor diet. if it keeps up though, then you may want to see your doctor because it could be your thyroid.

Check your thyroid hormones if your hair is falling out: TSH, T3, and T4.

You're only 15 and you're losing your hair???? That shouldn't be happening. It would be tough for that to happen because of malnutrition unless you're starving yourself. You should go see a doctor. You could have a serious illness.
