The reason they itch is b/c they are doing their job and shifting your teeth. Yes they are uncomfortable, but this is only the begining. Once your braces are applied you may notice that all your teeth itch. It's kinda weird, but that is just your teeth begining to shift into place. It will subside with in a few days to a few weeks.
The only advice I can give you is apply something cold to the area. Like an ice cube or even ice cream.... but remember to brush your teeth after you are done! Also... ibuprophen works wonders. It is an anti-inflamitory.

they itch? when i had them, they only hurt for the first two days. then i didnt even notice they were there! take some advil, and hope it goes away soon. but maybe you shouldnt take the advil, and save it for when you get your braces...they hurt like 10 times more.

I had spacers too, and they never itched......they just were annoying. Maybe you're allergic to the rubber they use.

IT ONLY GETS WORSE FROM HERE!!! THIS IS JUST THE SPACERS WAIT TILL YOU GET THE BARCES. YOU BARELY START TO GET USED TO THEM WHEN YOU GO AGAIN IN ONE MONTH TO GET THEM ADJUSTED, THEN IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN----THIS FEELING IS AN ONGOING PROCESS TILL YOU COMPLETE YOUR ORTHO TREATMENT...

Warm saline gargles. You may even use betadine mouthwash.
