pre-destined is a tricky translation problem. Ro 8:29-30...Eph. 1:5-11

Romans site does not say people who He did not forknow will noit be able to get saved. It just says there are some that He forknew and them He predestined for justification.

in Eph. once again some were known b4 the beginning of this particular creation, some are so silly as to think this was God's only creation and some think this place was only set up this one time. The Bible supports neither idea.

The Word does not state that there are a limited number of souls created or that no new ones are being made. Also does not say if everyone was created b4 this creation, after in the middle on going or something we have not thought of. Time in Heaven is not identical to time here. These two scriptures then quite possible refer to a small number of all creation who happen to be occupying bodies at that place and time when the letter is written.

Do not forget you are reading others mail, people who not only lived long ago but who have a history with the author which we are not aware of. Also Paul went to the third heaven and talked with Jesus and no where does it say that everything discussed has been revealed.

When reading scripture, read not only what it says but note what it does not say. Do not assume you know the exact context without study. When reading these types of scripture take your time and do not just believe what anyone tells you., ask yourself questions like does this mean every one was known b4?? Remember too that the greek has at least one verb tense we do not have,

we all have free will. we make our own choices as to what we will do, how we will treat other people, and we will also make our own choices regarding where we spend eternity.

God operates outside time. The Bible says that a single day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a single day to the Lord. What does this mean? It pretty much means that God operates outside the constraints of time.

He can view our life from beginning to end--and He knows how we will run our race---to use Paul's example. Whether we fight the good fight and win the race--the Lord already knows the outcome--even though our death may be decades in the future--the Lord has already seen our end. God knows if we reject our accept His offer of forgiveness.

I'm thinking that's what the Bible means when it says the Lord has pre-determined who will follow Him. I don't think it means that He has created some people just to be condemned to Hell without any chance of redemption.

What happened to free will? Will you, if you had the power, predestine your kid to destruction? Is it not cruel? God is love and he does not predistine anyone to destruction.

You probably got the habbit of some to read one verse and that's it. You have to read the context. Remember this rule: plain meaning to plain words, unless the resulting conclusion would be absurd. For example, would you literally interpret Jesus saying that it is better for a man to cut off his hands, or gouge out his eyes than sin? Literal interpretation of this verse is nonsense, agree?

It was talking about God predestined the church not the individual. The church is made up of people, but each has the right to accept or reject. Question is Which Church? We have thousands of different denominations, so which one is the right one?

I think it is a perfect example of how the bible was altered by man. How poorly it was translated and then altered and then altered again.
