You would have to apply for a pardon first. I have known people to go over with a criminal record, but, if you were to be asked for ID and they were to C pick you, you would be turned away.

Each and everyone who has answered is incorrect. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. If you don't know the correct answer, don't answer.
If you have a record, yes you can come to the USA. If you are on a terrorist watch list, you'd be foolish to do so. Criminal records like drugs, etc are fine.
The only country I know you can NOT go to is Switzerland. They will bounce you right back on a plane after you try and get thru customs. They do this because it's one of the few non-extradidion countries.

It depends on the record you have if its drugs or firearms related then you have no chance. But I do know that you can go to the American Embassy in London and clear your record but its not cheap. It costs £69 for an appointment and if you dont take all the paperwork needed they just send you packing and another appointment has to be made. This I know as my sister in law had to go recently and declare her criminal record for shoplifiting when she was 13yrs old she is now 34 for the record. The USA dont forget unfortunatley. Hope this helps xx

Normally when travelling from UK to USA you don't need a visa , but if you have a criminal record then you need to apply for visa before you attempt to travel. If you have done something serious then you may not be allowed the visa therefore you can't travel.

Years ago, I guy who used to work with me went on holiday to The US, at immigration his companion was told he was being denied entry as he had a criminal record.
He did have a conviction for ABH or similar from 10 years previous.
He was sent packing.

You'll be required to fill in a 30 day Visa when you go to US from UK. You will have to declare your record on the visa, it really depends on your crime!
