How do you get confidence?

Question

I am a very attractive 26 year old gir who gets hit on alot, Im very comftorable around guys, but when it comes to getting a job and having confidence to talking to just anyone and talking to girls mostly, i just cant do it, Im like shy around people I dont know, I think thats why I can never get a good job, I dont know how to stop being so shy and just go for what I want. what is wrong with me and how do i change this?

i suggest you read self-help books because that has helped me a lot in improving some aspects of my life. trainings and seminars are also helpful...
I believe there's nothing wrong with you, maybe you just didn't get enough um.."practice" (?) talking to girls..
All of us have our weaknesses..and i hope you overcome yours.. pray.

You need to be able to converse with people at a higher level. Take a course (history, english lit, political science). Read the newspaper every day and become knowledgeable in some areas that are common to your office.

If people start talking about something you are familiar with, you will join in and gain confidence.

You might have self-esteem issues, in which case counseling or therapy may be the best solution. Or, you might just want to take some communication classes to build some skills, and that may give you the confidence.

you need to remember that people are your equal, just because they may be your boss some day doesnt mean that they are above you or better than you...think of some of the things you do daily or on weekends and picture those people doing those things...it will make you look at them totally different.

Confidence comes from succeeding. Pick small goals that you will succeed at and then accomplish them.
