Keep a close eye on this family member. Prisoners are in there for a reason... they committed a crime. Many times prisoners develop "relationships" so they can have someone bring in drugs or other contraband to them. Cigarettes cost about 5 dollars in prison. So even the most innocuous item can be dangerous. The person bringing in the contraband is guilty of a felony and can be sentenced to prison for a very long ti,me. Talk with the family member, let them know the consequences of being used by the inmate. Good Luck.

You can write an annoymous letter to the warden. That would eb your best bet.
It is against the rules for anyone working at the prison to have sexual relations with a prisoner. I do believe it might be against the law in some states, though I am not sure.
I am sorry to say that regardless of how prison officials find out that your family member is going to be in some serious trouble, and trust me they might already think that something is up and is watching your family member closely.
I honestly beleive that regardless, it was just plain stupid for the family member to a relationship with a prisoner.

Of course you can't reallly date an inmate, since inmates are in prison. They can have sex with an inmate. Or they can date a friend or family member of that inmate.
And he is already in trouble for having any personal dealings with an inmate, At best they will lose thier job, at worst they can have some criminal charges also.
Next normally this will only lead them deeper and deeper into more and more trouble, Report them now for thier safety and the safety of all the other officers

Tell them that if the relationship does not end, you will report them to the Prison Authorities.
However, I don't know how you will know for sure that the relationship has ended.
If you do go ahead and make a report, you must be sure of your facts and understand that you MIGHT well get this family member into trouble.
I believe a relationship like this would not be allowed.

some people are so stupid , or at least their answers are, some of you think you are so great, why?? don't you know that people in prison are the same as the people o the street, the only difference is , the ones on the street have not been caught,YET, stop and think , how many laws did you break today? since our country has a 98.8 % conviction ratio, just how safe do you think you are? did you know that Jesus was in prison ? so was his disciples, so get a life and stop trying to be holy holy, it is estimated that over 50 %of prisoners are not guilty as it is now,

Talk with the family member and tell them how you feel about them dating an inmate! Explain to them what would happen if someone were to find out. Also try and get the family member to think about what they are getting out of this relationship. Is it really worth them losing their job over?

Love hurts...........I have seen this happen and it does not end up good. Your love one will evenually loose thier job and also become a criminal.
You need to write a letter to the warden stating the facts so your love one can be watched by the prison and/or relocated based on evidence they see or based upon nothing before they do something they will regret later.

I'm pretty sure your family member knows the trouble he/she could get into by dating an inmate... If they want to risk getting fired then thats there problem not yours... I dont understand why people date or even marry inmates... especially if they have life sentences... hummmm.

Report it to the officials in charge of the prison or jail immediately. Corrections personnel are not allowed to have relationships with inmates. Please, do the right thing and stop a serious violation of policy and ethics. Report it right away!

Its not unusual for some folk to take advantage of people in these situations. They are obviously of very sick minds, its a bit like abuse. Try reporting them but make sure it gets to the right person otherwise it will get overlooked. They deserve to lose their job not just be moved on to another area.
