i chose to become a novice since i felt that my life belonged to God but our Mother Superior says many are called but few are chosen and they think that i should re-think my decision to stay inside the convent. I want to be a nun.. can anyone enlighten me and help me decide(T.T)?

Pray. God has a plan for your life, He just may not let you know what it is when you'd like.

If they are urging you to rethink your decision perhaps they are seeing something in you, something that you are not acknowledging, that they feel indicates your place is not in a cloister. I can scarcely imagine they haven't been specific in this regard. A convent is a community and a family. If they don't think you belong, you don't, and indeed few there are who are actually suited for the life.

I don't know you , but I understand Christianity thoroughly, and every Christian's life belongs to God wherever they are and whatever they do. You hardly have to live in a convent for that.

You can always try a different convent.

I work with several Religious Sisters that were in different orders before coming here.

If you are truly interested, take a look at their web site and see if there is anything they can do for you. The site is at http://www.sssf.org for the School Sisters of St. Francis.

May you find your true calling in life. I know it isn't an easy thing to do, but through prayer and meditation you will soon find what God has planned for you.

There are many ways to serve God - no one way is better or more dedicated that another. Only you and God can determine the best way to spend your life - look inside you and you'll have your true answer. Good Luck.

Hi.

Do what's in your heart. I don't believe you need to be religious to know God. But if this path feels right for you then you need to pursue it. The Mother Superior is testing you. She wants to be sure you are making your choice for the right reasons.

I don't believe your story - it is too thin and superficial. You are looking for guidance from the Yahoo Answers community?

Go get drunk and spend a weekend getting banged on a pool table. Then you can decide whether or not you have been called.

There are other orders that may be better suited to your particular gifts. Continue to ask God to guide you and He will surely reveal His will to you.

Get a Job, find a man... live life, make some babies, forget all that silly jazz about convents and such, move to the beach.... enjoy life

possibly try a different order. Maybe the order you chose is not the right one for you.
