I agree with some of the other answers. Go to your health professional and get a blood workup down so you will not be wondering why you are having the pain. Sometimes men at your age can be affected with Uremic Gout which is a form of arthritis. Diet if you are overweight, watch what you eat as foods can aggrevate the pain, exercise, getting enough sleep, and try meditation to find some peace. Your doctor will more than likely want to put you on medication if you do have a form of arthritis, but do not over medicate, especially with steroids and pain relievers. Those drugs can have some side affects that are most unpleasant. Steroids cause a gain in weight, and some of the pain relievers can cause gastric distress and bleeding in the gastric system. Go to a Rhematologist not a general physician. Good luck

I am 42 and have rheumetoid arthritis. Go get some bloodwork done. RA is an auto immune disease and will show factors in blood samples. Also I saw someone mention fibro. I suppose I have that too, my muscle involvement is pretty bad. I am on long term pain management. I have Hep-C, so the doctor gives me methadone for pain. You have to take it at a certain time of the day, and everyday. It builds up. After about a month, you don't feel it at all, exept I get brain fog and all that jazz from the compromised liver. He also states that it is safer for my liver than any of the others. He initially offered me Oxycontin, Morphine or Methadone. I asked which one would f- with my head the least, and he said methadone, so that is what I chose. After a strange getting used to period, I have been taking it since march and I feel and act completely normal. I don't get high, and I don't appear high. I take 80 mgs a day. I think the only reason he got me started on something like that is that I have had hep-c for so many years and my quality of life was so bad trying to work with just that, to be hit with horrid daily pain was it. I am working on getting medi-cal and Social Security. I bring this all up, becuase it is all not hopeless. Good luck and God bless. Dana

I too am 46 yrs old, Its best to seek doctor's care ,get blood work done, to make sure arthrisits isn't present, Also get recommended to a rehmatoligst .He will do certain tests , there's tests that can be done to determine if it is in fact fibromyalgia, The Rhemy Doc, will test some certain pressure points, there' a total of 18 pressure points they test , if you have at least 11 of these pressure points as well as some other health factors, such as IBS, carpel tunnel syndrome,as well as sleep issues, such as sleep apnea, the pain is mostly like a type of burning, or electric like shock type feel, the weather does make it worse, when the pressure points are touched its very very painful,You will be a fibromyalgia positive patient, also if you have pain on one side the other side will also be effected it's fibro, Some Doctor's still have no clue how to treat fibro as they don't believe its a physical condition, but it certainly is.These quacks are just not up to the times. The Doctor's or other people that dont or havent been through this think its all in the head...not so!!all the best

Pain in the joints could be due to various reasons. Some of the most common reasons are injuries, bursitis, muscle pains, arthritis, overexertion or other diseases.Sometimes, small or large joints on both sides of the body may be affected. Most of the joint pains can be cured but for some types like joint pain, (pain due to osteoarthritis),treatment will only help in reducing the pain. I am 47, I have shoulder, arm foot and hip pain, i have had a Dexa scan for (bone density) Spine x-ray, told i don't have arthritis and if i live till I'm 100 will never suffer with osteoporosis. My physio has told me she can do no more for me as she thinks she has made the pain worse with the exercises.I have been seeing a spiritual healer and the pain is gradually subsiding, also i have been taking supplements (Recommended by GP) Glucosamine + Chrondroitin which i feel is also helping

Im 16 and i have pain in my joints! yes 16! I have done sports my whole life and Gymnastics caused it! Some days my ankles, shoulders, and hip can even handle swimming.. if you did sports when you were younger this could be the cause... i go to a chiropractor that does ART (Active release Technique) that helps a lot.. they work with all the muscles in the body and it has helped me get back to sports with all the pain in my joints.. try going to one of them

I am 40 and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 5 years ago. If your tests show that is what you have then you will need support and it helps to speak to others with the same condition. It is difficult for others to understand hidden disabilities, if you walk, talk and look normal and have all your own hair they cannot seem to register in their minds that you are ill but look well so put it down to being a fabrication of your mind or as my hubby tells me JUST GET ON WITH IT.

Glucosomine Sulphate with Chondroitin helps regenerate cartilage, avoid oranges/tomatoes/lemons. Go to a really good health food shop for proper dietary and supplement advice. Exercise with no impact.

Rheumatoid Arthritis. See Dr. Preferably one specialized in Arthritis. You might need to see family Dr. first if you're on an HMO plan. Hope you feel better.
