People hate to have things prohibited, though may not want what isn't.

Example - from my understanding Christianity is to a large extent prohibited in China - at least from an official perspective. So people there are eager to get Bibles and learn what is taught in them. Once people had them and did that though - for generations - many take it for granted, begin to question the Bible and all its versions and how they came about, and question doctrines and why some in some churches are not even supported by the Bible actually.

Christianity can be presented very effectively to people knowing little about and with little previous exposure to it, but that becomes much more difficult to people who do and have.

So they don't know it well enough, we know it too well.

This is not meant as a knock on Christianity per se, but IMO faith and belief are much more important than identification with a group.

Another large factor which is evident here is that many people nowadays simply think of Christianity as nothing more than a bunch of stories - don't believe there is any real truth to it - especially considering the technology a proverbial handful of people invented and developed that we now enjoy. So they trust their logic here & now rather than things people experienced and wrote about in the past.

I believe that Christianity is becoming less and less popular in America because of the broad range of races coming into the States. These newcomes bring along their religion and beliefs and transfer it to other families they meet here.

Christianity may be gaining popularity elsewhere tho, because of the constant arrival of Americans in foreign countries. You read about it in magazines, on the news, and over the radio. Even American soldiers have a part in spreading their beliefs to other nations.

So, logically, Americans leaving the States creates the spread of Christianity elsewhere, and the arrival of those foreign to the US helps in the substantial decline of Christians in America.

Christianity is slowly declining in America because we're slowly taking God out of the public scene. In other countries God remains a huge force behind their social structure, whether it be the Christian God or other false gods.

Because in America christianity has been abused. American christianity has a lot of judging and a lot of corruption in it. It is almost to the point where we make God out to be evil. We say obey God and be His "Slave" or you go to hell. And people see right through that, and so they don't believe.

But the truth is God is love, he died so we might not, he loves us regardless of how we act. He only gives us commands because He know what is best for us. He wants us to be happy and by obeying we find Him and we find happiness. But the religion that christianity has become make people obey out of fear of hell, instead of out of love for a wonderful and awesome God.

In other countries people are just seeing God for the first time and seeing true love and want to obey out of love and not out of fear. Their eyes of understanding are not dimmed by America's fake love christianity.

life is easy in America. We have what we need and much more so there is no drive to need God.
In other countries God is all they have because life is not so good.
Or, in America there is so little persecution so faith is week and untested. In other countries you can die for what you believe so faith is either not there or it is strong enough you would die for it.

The more reason, common sense and logic are used, the less religion will have an influence.
