It depends on your personal taste, but keep these things in mind to get the right mood. Don't use all dark, deep colors - they can be very classy, but tend to make things more formal and serious feeling. Add in something bright for fun, but don't use all bright colors or it can feel very informal. Metallics (in moderation) can also add some fun.
Some examples:
Deep red with copper and gold
Deep chocolate brown – it’s trendy and can be pretty as an accent or with metallics - this with a turquoise-y blue and white is fun and modern
Black and white with bright pinks and reds
Take into consideration where you're getting married and where the reception is, too - hopefully the locations are pretty neutral in terms of colors, but you don't want to completely clash.
Good luck, and congratulations!

My wedding is in a week, during a fall time of the year in my area. I decided to have a deep red, black, and of course white as the colors for my wedding. Classy and the darker colors are more a fall/winter colors to have at your wedding.
Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be beautifull!! Good luck!

September is a great month for flowers...deep reds and blues would be great! Mix it up with some shades of cream and that will definitely look great! Make sure, though, that the flowers you pick pop against the bridesmaids; dresses and don't blend in...mixing dark and pale flowers, especially something as extreme as maroon and cream, will look great in black and white photos as well, if you choose that option.

I got married in September 3 years ago. I used fall colors. The bridesmaid dresses were dark green. The flowers were black-eyed susans, daisies, cattails and queens anne lace. We had lots of fall leaves everywhere.
