Not at all. In today's society females have every right. If you love your man and he does you in return what should it matter. If he is any type of guy he will love you even more for bringing a type of equality into your lives. LL.

Not if he man is already emasculated. A man who would want or need a woman to propose to him is already showing signs that he is not a real man. And if I were a woman I wouldn't want to marry a man who did not want to ask me to marry him.( I am a married male and I am disappointed that anyone should ever have to ask this question.)

It shouldn't be, but in reality I think that you will find that many men think it is. Granted, traditional procedures are becoming less important in society, but the proposal can still be important to a guy. Think of it this way...would you like your husband to plan the wedding? In theory, the answer should be that you are ok with it because the two of you are so compatible that you would trust his choices. The reality, however, is that you have always had an image in your mind of planning your wedding. It is the same way for many guys. How he is going to propose is kind of a big deal to some guys...it is one of the few things that they have traditionally been able to plan themselves, and put their own personal signature on. It is a way for them to express themselves. Sure, it is true that, either way, you will be engaged... but that is not what I am referring to. I am referring to the WAY the proposal happens, not the fact that it happens. Many guys take pride in their ability to be creative and blow the girl away with an awesome proposal...it is one of the few things that is really about them in the whole traditional wedding package. To take that away may be disheartening to some guys.

first time I came across this word `emasculating'.....anyway better to let the man propose. Lady propose sound a bit desperate.

Well that is becoming the new trend for the woman to propose. I believe in it myself I mean I hate to be a follower I like to be a leader and if my husband hadn't asked me first I would have asked him in a heart beat.

Yes.
If you already know that you're answer is yes, then wait for him to ask the question,.... as it his choice, and his courage.
So let him have that.
Let him choose YOU.
