Just because you may have Saturday and Sunday off from work, is it really something to be so thrilled about. I think we should save our thank-you's to God for the really important stuff...like, thank God I'm alive, thank God for my family, thank God for good health. I think that TGIF just trivializes God's name.

I think the only path to true happiness is to celebrate the tiniest things as much as one celebrates the biggest things. I'm happy right now because my allergies are clearing up, and my tea tastes good, and my Amazon order shipped today, and the leaves are BEAUTIFUL outside, and I was able to pay all my bills today and have a good amount left over.
While I'm maybe not *quite* as happy about all these things as I would about a major event, I'm still happy about them. Happy enough that it overrides a lot of the icky stuff.

Thank God for everything! Friday might just be a day of the week, but someone might thank God for Friday because something good might of happened, or their day might have gone well, or they could just be happy that it's over. We need to be thankful for anything and anyone, no matter what!

I work on Saturday and sometimes Sunday so I see no need in being thankful for the weekend. Sometimes Monday and Tuesday are my weekends. Or Thursday and Friday. So all-in-all we should thank God, as you have said, for simply being alive.

Absolutely true. Fridays not so special its just another day to me and most other people, besides alot work the weekend now so they'd probably say thank god its Monday or something.

Believe it or not, but the true Sabbath starts at Friday sundown and ends Sabbath day (Saturday) sundown. Thats why they thanking God, because it is the start of the holy Sabbath

I agree with you, although we should thank Him for everything we need to thank Him for each day not just the ones that we want to come.
