my hair is slightly past my shoulders, curly brown and layered a little, im goin' for a haircut soon and am not sure whether to keep growing it and have just a few layers put in or to have lots of layers so it springs up? (trying to grow it past my boobs.)

Be innovative,bring back a fashion.
You could go for the old Joanna Lumley 'Purdey' look.
Only now all the girls would go in and ask for an 'Alice'

have it cut about 5cms and have a few layers put in.
its gonna be easier for you to grow and you wont have loads of layers just enough to see if you like them
also whether you can get your hair that long depends on the condition of your hair ask them for advice when you go

i was growing my hair long (it was just passed my boobs!)...then yesterday at the hairdressers i just had the urge to get a layered bob, it was cut so it is longer at the front,i have never had my hair cut this short and i am well happy with it, I'd recommend it highly!

If you are trying to grow it out... and want a dramatic difference I would suggest getting it cut and straightened.....
When you get your hair cut it grows alot faster because it is healthier and happier.......

You should keep it growing coz that's what I'm doing (i'm brown and curly too!) and so far so good, I'm pleased to say! =D

hiya im a hairdresser and i have curly hair one piece of advice i give you make sure the person who is doing your hair has curly hair if she doesnt then dont do it and come and see me and i'll sort you out you wont leave my shop unhappy (Fe hair studio camden town)

4 shoulder length curly hairs , go 4 step cut ,
that is the best option u can go 4 any season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
