When I first visited Spain on holiday about 50 years ago I noticed a small local kid (about 6 years old) riding a push bike along the promenade, a police officer pointed his pistol at the kid and told him not to ride his bike in that area!!!
That almost put me off Spain for life!!!!
Since that time I have revisited many areas of Spain, we have two daughters living in Spain , they have lived there for many years, both married with kids of their own, their children speak 3 languages, I have come to learn the Spanish people love children , the children seem to be all very polite to their elders and very well brought up!
You seem to have a similar problem to the UK with lots of undesirable types of immigrants!
And you must have lots of patience to put up politely with all the tourists, I don't usually generalise but I think the Spanish people are great!!

I'm English, haven't been to the Spanish mainland (yet) only the Balaerics. With the obvious exception of San Antonio I love the islands and will go back again. Would even buy a place there if I could afford to.
Beautiful place with very friendly and haspitable people.

We are an English couple who have retired to Northern Spain.
We have been here 4 years and it has probably been the best 4 years of our lives. We are integrated into the local community. People welcome us and wave to us on the streets and we are made to feel part of the community. They still have that old fashioned courtesy and respect for each other that the UK lost a long time ago. Here in Catalunya, if someone enters a room,,,for example , a doctors waiting room, he or she will say "bon dia " (good day )...and the entire room will reply "bon dia ". And that will be repeated everytime someone enters or leaves the room.
Priceless !!... I could go on and on.

My wife and i came to live here nearly 6 years ago ,and we love it ,we live in a spanish village called hondon de las nieves ,inland of alicante, and although we still find the language difficult to master, the people are wonderful.i just hope they dont get fed up with the numbers that are now coming her,and more importantly the ones coming here who dont respect the spanish way of life,,thats one of the reasons we left england, the lack of respect by the people coming in
who forgot the old saying," when in rome do as the romans do",nice to know your interested Santi.

I have been to Alicante, and Murcia where I saw some fantastic festivals including the Burial of the sardine.
I love it Spain is so relaxed laid back and the place is spotlessly clean. I loved it and would definately return there.

I'm pretty impressed with the way you stand together in a crisis, something we Brits could learn a thing or two about.
