Spankings are fun. Wife and I spank each other during role play sex.

There is a difference in spanking and beating! Children need discipline. They need to know if they do something wrong there are consequences to their actions. With my children I would give them licks in their hand. If they are 7 that means seven licks. You also should try different ways to discipline like timeouts. 20 minutes seems like a very long time to a 7 year old. Take away something they really enjoy doing. Be creative it does not always mean you have to spank your child.

There is nothing wrong with a spanking!! That's what's wrong with kids today!! They need their butts tore up!! And I don't mean beat til they're black and blue, either!! Just a couple licks does the trick. Not for just any little reason either, only when they do VERY bad things. Sometimes timeouts just aren't enough to get the point across. My friends and I all got spankings when we were young--until we were almost 14, actually--and nothing is wrong with any of us. We don't go around bullying people and starting fights and we all finished school and went to college and finished that. We now have kids of our own and hold down jobs and are responsible parents.

I was spanked until I was at least 11!
While other people may not agree, sometimes spanking is warranted. Just make sure you're not emotional when you do it. There's a difference between spanking and beating.

Spanking is ok in moderation. Use is for only the most severe cases, like the child doing something that is going to hurt themselves or others. Time Out is a good alternative, also, take away priveledges.

It depends on the situation. Spanking, if done with an open hand on a clothed bottom is not going to harm the child. I only give my son a swat on the butt if he is doing something dangerous.

yes you should spank your children at 7. If you start letting them get away with things when they are young and you dont spank them by the time they are 15 they will be running all over you!

Don't listen to these narrow minded people, I personally do not spank but then again my children behave and do not need it, I have seen some children that need a good spanking for certain things they do.

Taking away privileges at that age usually works best. My Daughter was told last year that if she did anything wrong she would lose privileges to go to her friend's birthday parties. After missing one party, she started doing much better. At 7 they now understand more and do not forget what they are being punished for. Grounding is also an effective punishment, as long as it is not too long.

you should never abuse a child but then again you shouldn't let the child grow up soft and pansy-assed....i don't believe in corporal punishment in the schools without the permission of the parents...but it is the parent's kid and they should be able to do what they want within reason with the child
