All creative professions can be "worth it" in that doing something you love for many hours and many years is the way to go if at all possible.
In this case, even if you were to end up doing something else for your main career path, you could always enjoy photography and possibly make some money on the side as well. You could pursue photography as a hobby and then later pursue it as a second career if you want.
In my opinion, take the courses, spend the time and the money, and see if you have what it takes to follow that career path now. Taking some classes can help you to find out more about the different career paths available and their demands. If you take the class and then decide not to follow this as a career now, you can still enjoy pursuing photography throughout your life--it won't be time or money wasted.

Do you think taking Photograpy as a ***delete*** profession***delete*** HOBBY worth it?
Yes, I would take a course if you enjoy it. Its relaxing sometimes.
If you are rich, your parents are rich, you live in a big city and have a husband/wife that is rich, then yes it is a good profession.
Otherwise, be prepared to live out of your car. Exaggeration.
Or be prepared to play a lottery, the odds are against you.

It's definately worth it! I'm 25 and about a semester ago I finished my A.A. in Art. I live in a little town and have to travel elsewhere in order to get to what I would really love to do, which is Interior decorating. I am not willing to go anywhere, because I'm a bit afraid to do my own thing, but I've learned a lot here. At 1st, I was wasting my time with watercolor, then I loved it and decided to start oil painting, then I move to acrylics...I just loved painting & creating my own designs. I don't regret any of it. So, don't knock it 'til you try it! Who knows, maybe that'll be your career sooner than you know it. Plus, if you don't try, you'll be asking yourself "what if"?

I would tend to think you could make a decent living. You would need to find a niche however- there are a lot of wedding and event photographers out there as it is. Try for something unique. Scenery is fun, but not terribly marketable. Pets perhaps- thousands of people are really pampering their pooches and felines nowadays..... Just an idea.. Good Luck! I say go for it!
