Wow, were do I start?

Because of the Book of Mormon: I know I am spiritually a daughter of God,
I have developed a relationship with Jesus Christ and learned a bit of how the atonement works in my life,
I have the gift of the Holy Ghost,
I had the experience of going on a mission to Portugal (and learned Portuguese),
I am married to my husband in the temple,
I have hope that as a family we can spiritually better ourselves, and be together forever,
I know that God lives,
I know He loves me,
and I know the little things I do make all the difference in the world.

Thanks for the chance to share :)

on the whole it was not the "specific parts" as much as it was the fact that it confirmed the gospel taught in the bible....w/o all the bells and whistles that mankind has added and interpreted.....and it provided the second witness of Christ that God promised in the bible....and it made sense of many things that men have misinterpreted until they are only able to explain it as some misty anomolous thing we cannot possibly understand..... but I really like a couple I'll put here..... "Now, remember that he not only protected the servants and the animals at the waters of Sebus, but he drove off the enemy. When the other servants brought the evidence of what Ammon had done, King Lamoni said, “Where is he?” They said, “Oh, he is in the stables. He is doing every little thing to serve you”" (alma 18:8–9). isn’t that odd? here he was, called to teach salvation....and he was in the stables. why wasn't he praying and fasting and rehearsing his teaching plan? he was in the stables "doing every little thing to serve." or this one.... “And when they shall have received this, which is expedient that they should have first, to try their faith, and if it shall so be that they shall believe these things then shall the greater things be made manifest unto them. “And if it so be that they will not believe these things, then shall the greater things be withheld from them, unto their condemnation” (3 Ne. 26:9–10). God teaches in parables - always has. this made me see the challenge is not to for God to prove to me that the BoM/bible is true -- but for me to prove to God that I am true. and when I get that right...when I understand the need to experience God's love before I can understand that I need His atonement - then I will know His words are true. and when I prove that I will do what God says, God will teach me more....THAT made sense, rather than 'there are some things we just cannot understand' (solemnly said w/head bowed). instead when I read (Ether 3:2) about the brother of Jared and light in a ship....I found that I was NOT thinking so much about light in a ship as I was thinking about the great change the power of atonement provides. I understood why isaiah was included in the BoM --- why he told me it would be helpful to foresee the day when the Lord would be exalted and to know how much I depend upon Him. so there's just a couple.

More patience and energy. It pays to put God first. If I combine both Book of Mormon reading with the Bible on any given day it is even better.

I aggree when I read every day like I am suposed to I feel like the troubles of life are so much easier to deal with. I am not streesed and worried over everything. It is wonderful to read the scriptures (bible and BOM) and feel the words of the prophets penetrate your soul. I read ALMA 5 last night wow what a chapter.

It is too bad people can't respect others beliefs. Thank you for asking. That was very brave of you.

It hasn't. I read the Book of Morman back in 1967 while I was in Viet Nam. It was a good book to read and contemplate but I don't really believed it changed my life as the Bible has.

I has helped me gain a deeper understanding of God's plan for us. It reinforces the truthfulness of the Bible. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. I know that we can repent of our sins and I have a stronger desire to do good.

The Holy Spirit of Truth leads me into all truth and isn't a liar. So the Mormon book had to go since I trust & obey God.

Jesus Christ is my Lord & Savior and He hates gospels that aren't His. Just read Revelation to the 7 churches.

Did you know that when you go up all the levels you can, Lucifer is at the top to make you a God? That is a lie and if any one believes it will end up in hell. It is a trapset for your soul.

Jesus Christ shed His own blood for the remission of your sins. Those that go to heaven are those redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Even one sin will keep you out of heaven. How many Mormons do all they can do yet never confess Jesus Christ Lord of their life. Too many. To see the Kingdom of God, you must be born again.

I positively realized that my LDS family believed in a lot of contradictory fantasy, 'prophets', new additions to the bible regarded as important, but in reality, more important

Not at all.
To me, there is no other holy book besides the Bible.
I'm glad it is working for you though.
Peace.
