Nutrition - a key factor in maintaining an energetic lifestyle and I had to learn the hard way after years of lack of energey. Go visit a diet expert and tell him about your problem.
You will be asked quesitons about your diet and the expert will provide you with tons of diet related options that will help boost your immune system and energey levels.
In my case it was lack of iron and vitamin B.

Limit your consumption of caffeine thru the day and none 5-8 hrs before bed. Although you think your getting enough sleep, the caffeine affects you sleep pattern and you don't hit the REM like you should. Exercise is the other thing that I would suggest. Being physically tired helps you sleep. I don't recommend it close to bedtime . That to can make it hard to fall asleep.

For waking up make sure the room your getting up in is warm. Your body drops its body temperature in the morning and most people who don't like to be cold have the most trouble or take the most time to get out of bed or wake up in the morning. Showers are deffinitely helpful, right when you get out of bed. And I'd grab something warm like tea and some food. The trick is giving your body enough time to "warm-up" or prepare itself for the day.

drink lots of water, lots of folks are dehydrated and don't even know it!! This affects how you feel in the morning and how well you keep your energy throughout the day. Do you snore? You could be a good candidate for sleep apnea.

A cup or two of "Joe" will get you started. It takes me almost and hour or two before I'm ready to go, so don't worry. You're not alone. Most of us are tired and crabby for awhile before we really get going.
Good luck
