Although I'm not the beauty Esther was, I can definitely relate to her dilemma. She realized that God had put her in a situation she did not want for a reason and that she was called for a specific purpose - to save her people.

Although my plans are not as dramatic, I realize that a lot of what I have gone through in my life has been for a teaching experience to prepare me for what lies ahead.

Esther realized that she needed to win the favor of people, so she provided a banquet with her enemy and the person who was in a position to win the favor. She realized that in order to be successful she needed to understand her opponents. Even after she was successful as a Queen, she never forgot her roots and remembered the importance of her family.

Esther's life was an extreme situation, but while my opponents will not be people who could kill me, I need to learn to relate to people on the opposite side of the situation and to learn to walk a mile in their mocassins. And the best approach will be to win their favor and more importantly to pray about the situation and ask for prayer support when undertaking difficult tasks.

Esther set her mind to the task and accomplished it. Because she realized what the goal was and what was at stake.

Esther is one of the best examples of a woman who was equipped not only with external beauty, but beauty of character, intelligence, charm, patience and the ability to plan a strategy. She realized she needed help and asked for it. She knew to bide her time.

So how do I relate to Esther? I'm definitely no queen, but she is one my role models in how she dealt with adversity and accomplished a major goal.

David. Because he is the perfect example of how God treats those who make mistakes. He was involved in a conspiracy to commit murder, a murderer, and committed adultery, the reason for the conspiracy to commit murder, and he was still the only man in the bible to be called a "Man after God's own Heart". This give me great encouragement. Also, society should learn a lesson from this scripture regarding forgiving those who make mistakes.

Peter. Big mouth, big promises, small action! I often have very noble ideas of what I would do if and when..., but like Peter when he denied Jesus, I can easily disappoint myself when it comes to the crunch. It encourages me to know that I am not alone, and that God was able to use Peter anyway!
By the way, I think some of the answers refer to which Bible character they admire most rather than which one they relate to ... I presume you meant the latter.

The virgin Marie and the twelve disciples. They all abandoned their lives to follow Jesus and Marie said I am your servant may it be as you say. Wish that could inspire me most of time when i stupidely choose things of the world that are ephemere against the way of the Lord which is everlasting and eternel joy.

Noah. i have a homestead with a lot of animals and i relate to how much critter poop Noah must have had to shovel everyday out that one small window of his ark. man! my small chicken coop gets smelly in just a few days so i imagine the stink in Noah's ark, with so little ventilation, must have been throat gagging and eye watering.

Mary. Imagine watching your child that you hugged, loved, and kissed being massacred by a crowd of murderers so that he could save the very souls of those that are crucifying him?
Could you watch that happen to your son or daughter, yet bravely stand by because you know it is his destiny and his/God's wish?
How hard was that?Heartbreaking.
And when you read what some of these ungratefuls on this website post, isn't that heartbreaking as well?
